Vice President Venkaiah Naidu launched the indigenous social media app Elyments on Sunday. On this occasion, he appealed to all the citizens to join the self-reliant India campaign and help in transforming Local India into Global India. Vice President Naidu said that Elyments App has been developed by more than 1000 IT professionals from the Volunteers of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living.
The Elyments app will be available in more than 8 Indian languages. It can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Stores all over the world. According to a report by ANI, before launching this app was tested among many people for several months. The Elyments app has more than 2 lakh downloads. In this, the data of users will remain secure in the country.
Features
The Elyments app features a commerce platform for private chatting, audio and video conference calls, secure payment through Elyments Pay and promoting Indian brands. With the help of this app, people can connect with the whole world and can buy local products. There will also be some public profiles on this app, which users will be able to follow or subscribe. The regional voice command feature will also be added later in the Elyments app.
Emphasis is being given to Indian applications
The government has appealed to Indian companies to focus on making native apps so that the domestic app space can be strengthened. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Digital India Self-reliant Innovation Challenge on Saturday. Its purpose is to promote apps made in India. There is a chance to win up to Rs 20 lakh in this challenge. The Indian government has recently banned 59 Chinese apps, which include Tiktok, SHAREit etc.
